My first experiences with the Wim Hof method | caminoreal1975

I have been doing the Wim Hof method for several years now. It is a morning practice for me.

Although I have not had the same experiences as the the post I’m pressing from, I do look forward to my breathing, my cold showers and I do push-ups and stretches daily. There are times when I’m doing my breathing that an sense of calm and bliss come over me that I cannot explain. I am also amazed at how long I can hold m breath during this exercise. Quiz: What Haircut Should You Get?

Haha, catching up on my WordPress sites I follow while at the hair salon for a new do. Probably should have read this before I sat in the chair. The good news is I think I’m mostly “b” and that is what I’m doing. You’ll have to read the post to understand what I mean. Switching up your ‘do is easier said than done. When it comes down to it, a new haircut is a commitment that not all of us are ready to take to the next level. Trust me when I say that I’ve been there—remember when I … Continue reading Quiz: What Haircut Should You Get?

A Pep Talk

Pep Talk, we all need one. Thank you Just A Small Town Girl for this post.  I feel like every so often we all need a quick pep talk to reassure us and remind us of how awesome we are, because in the words of L’Oreal, ‘we’re worth it dammit!’ [or something to that effect]. At the moment a couple of my close friends are down in the dumps. They’re stuck in one […] Continue reading A Pep Talk

Are You An Anthropocentrist?

Our textbooks, illustrated with stereotypical images of “cave men,” proved the assertion with a long list of what our species could do that others could not. The list was so smug that I was a bit embarrassed on behalf of my fellow homo sapiens. A skeptic even then, I thought the list was somewhat prejudicial. Worse, it didn’t acknowledge what feels obvious to young children, that… Continue reading Are You An Anthropocentrist?

Vegan in Disney

I’ve been a vegetarian for 5+ years and a vegan on and off the last 2 years. I’m curently reading Kathy Preston’s book “Veganist” and it’s convinced me to go back to being Vegan full-time. I have no problem being a vegan when I’m home, but I will be going to Disney in soon to listen to my daughter’s school choir perform in Downtown Disney. My husband and I will be staying on Disney property. This is the first time we have visited Disney without a rental car and stayed on Disney property. I’m concernced that I will have some … Continue reading Vegan in Disney

Been Awhile But Still Grateful

It’s been a while since I posted on my blog, but I’m back and still feeling grateful. My family and I had the opportunity to spend a week together in our favorite vacation spot, Hilton Head, SC.  Our daugher was on Spring break and our adult son happened to be free that week so the four of us spent a wonderful 7 days together. We rented a condo in Sea Pines plantation, our favorite plantation in Hilton Head,  because we like to bike, spend time at the beach and dine out. We can do all three things within Sea Pines … Continue reading Been Awhile But Still Grateful
