“I think therefore I am”. Maybe this quote was more about your thoughts becoming your reality? If so, we should probably mind our thoughts?
Our thoughts are energy. Some epigeneticists and quantum physicists theorize that because of this our thoughts create our reality. If this is so, then dream big my friends!
Take that daydreaming one step deeper to visualizing. Visualizing is more specific than daydreaming. Visualizing involves using all 5 senses along with your emotions. The more vivid you visualize, the better chance of it becoming a reality.
You will know you are doing it right, because you will feel really good as you are doing it.
Practice visualization daily, preferably upon awakening and right before you go to bed. So it is on your mind first thing in the morning and last thing before falling asleep
When you visualize, find a quiet space where you will not be interrupted. Approach your visualization with unwavering belief that it is happening. You don’t need to worry about how it is going to happen just trust that it is.
When you are done with your visualization you should feel energized and ready to go.
Want to take your visualization one step further? Write down your dreams and goals in a journal but write them with an attitude of gratitude. What I mean by that is approach each dream or goal with a thank you that it already exists and what it is you are thankful for. You are basically writing down what you visualized and you are incorporating gratitiude.
Let me give you an example:
I am so very happy and grateful for our new deck. I enjoy sitting outside first thing in the morning drinking my freshly brewed, robust, warm cup of coffee, listening to the birds sing, watching the butterflies pollinate and smelling the fragrant, fresh air. It is both relaxing and invigorating. I am ready to start the day. Thank you , thank you, thank you for my beautiful new deck!
As you can see I used all 5 senses in my visualization. I stated what I was thankful for, I brought in my emotions and I ended with more thanks.
One of the reasons I say to write it down is that you will have record of what you actually visualized.
I looked back at a journal I had done a few years back and was amazed at how much of what I wrote down became reality. It didn’t necessarily happen right away or exactly as I had envisioned it, but a lot of my dreams did happen.
One dream in particular that came true was the home I live in now.
I longed for a larger home as our children got bigger but financially we weren’t there yet. I started visualizing what our home would look like. I saw our family living in this new home. I saw myself driving on the driveway and into the garage. I envisioned our daily activities transpiring in this new home. I gave gratitude everyday for our new home. I even went as far as selecting the homes I could see us living in when I went on my daily runs.
We ended up buying one of 2 homes that I selected and have been living in it for 7 years now. It just so happened that one of my friends stared selling homes in this neighborhood and found us a home that was selling below market value because the buyers were in a hurry to sell. She didn’t know that the home she wanted to show us was one of the 2 on the cul de sac that I had selected for our family to live in.
So, keep your daydreams my friends and dream big!
