I had no idea that this was a thing “Child Labor Providing Favorite Pastime in Indonesia” reblogged from Edge of Humanity Magazine.
Some of these children start as early as the age of 3 with the approval of their parents for the extra money provided from the child’s participation in the event. It is a grueling, intense, injury-probed work.
What are we doing to the children in this world? Where is our humanity and compassion? Once again, greed wins. The only way to stop human atrocities in this world is by not participating in them, this starts with the spectators, or the customers. As long as there is a demand for the commodity these atrocities will continue. Perhaps I’m oversimplifying, but I would like to believe there is hope that at some point our human existence evolves to one of compassion, kindness and love.
