Pantry about 2/3 done
So I did a blog post on Decluttering in the Physical and Virtual back on April 7, 2019. I was about 1/3 of the way through on organizing and decluttering my pantry and made some big progress with deleting old email.
Today I did some more decluttering and focused mostly on my pantry. Tomorrow I’m running in the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay and have a lot of built up energy… so I’ve been cleaning, organizing and purging since I shouldn’t be running today. I have shiny clean hardwood floors, I deleted a bunch of old notes from my iPad(mostly from an IT job I recently left[freedom], and got further along in organizing my pantry. At this point, I would say I’m about 2/3 through the process. During this process, I have come to realize that I still over buy when I go grocery shopping. Sadly, I had to throw some things away because they were stale. I know it is wasteful and now that my husband and I are almost empty nesters(daughter is Freshman in college), I’m trying really hard to buy on an as needed basis.
So here is a look into my pantry. I know, it’s still a work in progress, but I’m getting there. Hard to believe that we moved into this house 5 years ago and I was thinking to myself, there is so much space there, I will never fill it, WRONG!
Tomorrow I run my leg of the marathon relay. I’m the last leg. I feel good about it. One of the goals I set after I left my job, was to increase my running and enter a race. Once I’m done with that tomorrow, I will come back to my decluttering project.
I have to admit, having an open, clutter-free space is a wonderful feeling. Why do we accumulate so much in our lives when we can’t take anything with us when we’re gone? I guess that a subject for another blog post.
