Peace has been on my mind a lot lately. It seems like right now there is so much war and distrubances going on in our beautiful world. Syria, Iraq, Israel & the West Bank, Russia and the Ukraine, and now Libia, not to mention all the of young, refugee children fleeing from Honduras, El Salvador & Guatemala for a safer, better life in the US.
It’s very disheartening and easy to focus our energy on all that is negative and worrisome when we are constantly reminded by our media about these horrible events that are happening. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be sympathetic or informed as to what is going on in the world, but we do need to monitor how often we expose ourself to the negative reporting and take a pause to focus on all that is good in our lives.
I believe in the Law of Attraction: we attract that which we think about or focus on. So, anytime I am exposed to the bad or negative news, I send loving thoughts to the all the victims and visualize peace in the region where the fighting is happening. Then I make sure I give thanks for the peace that we have in the US. We are so very fortunate to live a life of peace.
So, the next time you are exposed to negative news or you find yourself whining about all that is wrong with your life, allow yourself to take pause and reflect on the peace in your life. Just think, you can go outside right now and do pretty much anything you want to without worrying about if today is the day your neighborhood will be bombed, or the day you are arrested for having opinions and beliefs that oppose the powers that be.
